If there is one gripe that some Apple TV users might have with the device is that it doesn’t seem particularly futureproof. This is because despite 4K and HDR content becoming more mainstream, the Apple TV and content in the iTunes Store doesn’t seem to reflect the support for the newer resolution and technology, or at least until recently.

In a recent tweet by developer Guilherme Rambo (via AppleInsider), he has discovered more evidence that Apple could be getting ready to launch HDR content in the iTunes Store, and in turn it could also imply that the Apple TV could support the feature. This is actually not the first time that similar code has been found, nor is it the first time we’re hearing that Apple could be getting a 4K HDR Apple TV ready.

Apple is expected to host an event on the 12th of September where their new iPhones will be announced. However despite it being an iPhone event, it is widely believed that Apple will also introduce the Apple Watch Series 3 smartwatch,  and also unveil a 4K HDR Apple TV that many customers have been waiting for. Whether or not that happens remains to be seen, but we’re only a few days away from finding out for ourselves.
