[CES 2018] If you’re looking for a way to make your home smarter and more informative without it looking too obvious, Elgato might have the solution for you in the form of two newly-announced devices: the Eve Room and the Eve Button, both of which have been designed to be compatible with Apple’s HomeKit platform.
Starting with the Eve Room, this is a small square-like device that comes with an E-ink display. This display will show users information such as the air quality, the temperature, and also the humidity. While it might not be as informative compared to other devices like the Amazon Echo Show that can do so much more, the fact that it is small and unobtrusive allows it to blend better into your home.
Then there is also the Eve Button, which is essentially a connected button that users can press to activate up to three HomeKit scenes. This means that if you have certain looks that you’re going for, you can press on the Eve Button to activate them as opposed to having to go through them one by one.
Both the Eve Room and Button are made from aluminum, giving it a sleek and minimalist finish. The Eve Room is priced at $99.95 and will be available this March, while the Eve Button is priced at $50 and is available for pre-order via Amazon where it will begin shipping out on the 16th of January, 2018.
