If you’re using the Google Pixel Buds and would like to see more gesture functionality brought to the device, you might be interested to learn that in an APK teardown by the folks at 9to5Google, they have found some evidence that suggests that more gesture commands could be coming to the earbuds in a future update.

As it stands double tapping the Pixel Buds on the right ear will list Google Assistant notifications, and pausing it while it is speaking. However it seems that in the APK, they have discovered that in the future users can customize what it does, such as skipping to the next track when listening to music.

There also appears to be an upcoming in-ear detection feature that can pause music when you remove the headphones from your ear. There also seems to be a triple tap function that will let users turn the headphones off when not in use. That being said, while this does hint at new features that will be coming to the earbuds, there’s no guarantee that they will or when they will be released.

It could be that these are features that are in testing that might not make the final cut, but we guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
