According to the rumors, Apple is expected to refresh the iPad Pro lineup later this year. For the most part Apple’s iPads haven’t really undergone heavy redesign. They have been slimmed down, given new color options, increased in display size, but for the most part it is still easily identifiable as an iPad.

However this year could change that, according to a post on MySmartPrice who shared renders of the upcoming iPad Pro. The renders were given to them by their source, @OnLeaks, who has in the past been pretty good with their leaks for upcoming smartphones. The renders show that the new iPads will feature flat edges around the tablet, does away with the home button, and also it looks like there could be a TrueDepth camera system on the front.

The renders also seem to corroborate earlier leaks which showed that there could be a new Smart Connector on the back of the iPad (or it could be relocated), but we’re not sure how this will work with the current Smart Keyboard, or for those who want to use the tablet in landscape mode.

Take it with a grain of salt for now, especially since this is the first time we’re hearing about the iPad Pro getting a major redesign. While an upgrade has been more or less expected, this seems like a pretty huge change. Apple will be hosting an event on the 12th of September where the new iPhones and Apple Watch will be announced. It is unclear if the new iPads will be revealed then as well, but check back with us next week for the details.
