In this day and age, a microphone and some recording equipment will allow anyone to have their voice heard. However distributing your content is a different story, and for podcasters looking to be able to reach Spotify’s tens of millions of users, you’ll be pleased to learn that you will soon be able to list your podcasts to the platform.

Spotify has recently announced that they will soon be opening up podcasts to all users. However it should be noted that Spotify won’t actually be hosting your podcasts, but will rather list it once you’ve uploaded it to your own host or aggregator, and all you will need is to provide Spotify with your RSS feed.

According to Spotify, “Through this new platform that we’re testing, podcast creators who are hosting their podcasts elsewhere will be able to make their show available to Spotify users by providing us with their podcast feed. This will easily make them available to our audience of more than 180 million listeners around the world, and allow podcasters to see daily stats about who is listening and from where.”

Note that the feature is currently in beta which means that not all users can access it just yet and there could still be some kinks that have yet to be worked out. However once it exits its beta, you should be able to sign up and use it without any issues.
