For Star Wars fans who are eager to watch The Mandalorian series based on the Star Wars universe, you might be pleased to learn that actor Pedro Pascal has been cast as one of the leads of the upcoming series, according to a report from Variety. This seemingly confirms what the rumors have been saying for a while now.

For those who are unfamiliar, The Mandalorian series is expected to be launched on the Disney+ streaming service that will be launching in 2019. The series will take place after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order, and will follow a lone gunfighter’s journey through the galaxy.

The series has been penned by Jon Favreau and will see Dave Filoni direct the first episode of the series. Other directors such as Taika Waititi, Bryce Dallas Howard, “Dope’s” Rick Famuyiwa, and Deborah Chow have also been tapped to direct future episodes in the series, all of whom are pretty big names so it will be exciting to see what they can come up with.

Some might have also heard how The Mandalorian series effectively killed off the Boba Fett movie. It was also recently confirmed that there will be another Star Wars series launched on Disney+ that will be a prequel to Rogue One.
