Apple Is Serious About Health Tech, Has Dozens Of Doctors On Staff

It is no secret that Apple is pretty serious regarding their interest in health technology. The Apple Watch is a perfect example that showcases the various health efforts the company has made, where they have include heart sensors that measures one’s heart rate, and also with the Series 4, and ECG that might have already saved its first life.

There are even talks that Apple could be working on a non-invasive way to measure the glucose levels of users. This is why it doesn’t really come as a surprise to learn that in a report from CNBC, it seems that Apple has dozens of doctors on staff, where their sources claim that the company has about 50 or more doctors working there.

CNBC themselves have managed to track down 20 physicians who work at Apple based on LinkedIn information, but there is the potential that there could be more than that. Why would Apple require so many doctors to be on staff? Since they do seem to be developing health-related tech hardware and software, it makes sense that they would want to have medical professionals on hand to help consult and advise.

That being said, Apple is definitely not alone in hiring medical professionals. CNBC’s investigation also revealed that Amazon has several doctors employed, along with Alphabet (Google’s parent company). Unsurprisingly Apple has declined to comment on the report.
