EA’s Battlefield V was only released last month, but there have reports that claim that the game isn’t selling as well as its predecessors, so much so that it has been discounted very early on in its life. In fact the latest promotion run by EA, it seems that they will be discounting Battlefield V by as much as 50% for returning players.

What qualifies a “returning player”? Basically this promotion seems to be aimed at those who own a copy of Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 4, where upon launching either game, gamers are greeted by that promotional splash screen. Note that the discount is for a limited time only, so gamers will have to move quickly if they want to take advantage of it.

While discounts are great, the fact that the game is discounted so early on has unsurprisingly angered gamers who have paid full price for the game before the discount was announced. There are posts on Reddit in which many gamers have expressed their displeasure towards EA, with some even suggesting that this could be ripe for a class-action lawsuit.

It is unclear if this discount is simply a promotion done for the holidays, or to tempt players to return to the game, or if it is because the game isn’t doing as well as EA would have liked, but either way like we said, it does seem to be a limited time offer so maybe you’ll want to take advantage of it while the promotion is still valid.
