The other day we reported that it looked as though Apple Music integration could soon be finding its way into Google Home. This is thanks to a sighting in the Google Home app in which it listed Apple Music as being available, although at that time it did not seem to work. This led to speculation that Apple Music could be coming soon to Google Home.

Unfortunately that might no longer be the case. In a report from Bloomberg, a spokesperson from Alphabet claimed that it was apparently due to a “bug” that caused Apple Music to appear in the app. The spokesperson then said, “We have nothing to announce regarding updates to Google Home.”

We’ve seen our fair share of bugs in the past but this does seem like an odd one, although since Alphabet did not bother to share the details of the bug, we’re not sure what caused it. It could be possible that Alphabet might actually be working with Apple to get Apple Music onto Google Home and this could be their way of trying to put off announcing anything until they have something more concrete.

Either way don’t get your hopes up about seeing Apple Music on Google Home anytime soon, but hey, one can always hope, right?
