Cuphead has to be one of the more popular and challenging indie games launched in recent years. Unfortunately for the most part, it is only available on the PC and for consoles, it is an exclusive to the Xbox platform by Microsoft. It was unclear if there were plans to eventually bring the game to other platforms, but now it seems that we have some hope.

In a report from French gaming website Jeuxvideo, it seems that they have heard that Cuphead could be making its way outside of the Xbox platform and that it could actually find its way onto the Nintendo Switch. This follows a rumor which claims that Microsoft might bring Xbox Game Pass and its xCloud gaming platform to the Switch.

This means that in theory, the games could be playable on the Switch via game streaming, although ideally a native Switch launch is much preferred. In addition to Cuphead, the report also claims that other titles such as Ori and the Blind Forest (another Xbox exclusive) could be being considered to launch on the Switch as well.

If the cloud gaming rumors are true, it wouldn’t be the first time that we’re seeing developers and publishers opt to use cloud gaming to bring games to the Switch. Previously companies such as Capcom and Ubisoft have taken advantage of game streaming to bring games like Resident Evil 7 and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey to Nintendo’s console.
