The use of WhatsApp has largely been for mobile devices like our smartphones, but the good news is that if you’re on the iPad quite frequently and would love the ability to respond to messages, you might soon get the chance to do so. This is according to a report from WABetaInfo who claims that support for the iPad could be coming soon.

Based on the screenshots that they shared, it shows that there will be a brand new user interface for WhatsApp on the iPad, where one side will show the contacts you’re chatting with, and the other side will show the actual messages. Given that Apple has been pushing the iPad Pro to act as a pseudo-laptop replacement, having WhatsApp on the iPad could make the tablet more compelling.

Previously users kind of found a workaround to getting WhatsApp working on the iPad. This was done by accessing WhatsApp on the web through Safari, but the company later took that feature away. However, if this discovery is true, then it looks like iPad users should be able to use WhatsApp on their tablets soon. No word on when the app will be released, so we’ll just have to wait and see.

We’re not sure what took WhatsApp so long to bring support for the iPad, but we suppose better late than never, right?
