What started out as a Snapchat feature has slowly become a standard feature that we’re seeing in other apps. For those who don’t know what we’re talking about, we’re talking about the Stories feature. This allows users to post temporary content that won’t be part of their main profile.

This makes it handy for announcing updates or just sharing quick snippets of their lives. We’ve seen how it has made its way to Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, and now it looks like music streaming service Spotify will be the latest to adopt the feature as well. Dubbed “Storyline”, this will be Spotify’s take on Stories.

If you’re wondering why does this feature sound familiar, it is because Spotify actually has another similar feature called “Behind the Lyrics”, although this is said to afford more control for artists who might want to use the feature to explain parts of the song, what inspired it, how it came together, and so on.

Spotify has since confirmed that the feature is currently in testing for both iOS and Android users, but declined to offer any additional details, such as when it might be launched. “We are always testing new ways to create better experiences for more users.”
