OnePlus is a company known for their smartphones, but last year, the company confirmed that they would be making a smart TV. Details of the device were scarce back then, but until today, we haven’t really heard much on that front, leaving some to wonder if the device will be coming at all.

The good news is that if you were looking forward to seeing how OnePlus could tackle the smart TV market, leakster Ishan Agarwal has tweeted that according to his sources, he has heard that the official launch of the device will be happening soon. No specific dates were mentioned, but he mentions that it is “not very far away”.

As for the specs, unfortunately, that still remains something of a mystery, but Agarwal speculates that there is a good chance that it will not be an OLED TV, which means that for those who prefer the colors emitted by OLED will need to look elsewhere. Given that the TV market is dominated by the likes of industry veterans from Samsung, LG, Sony, and Panasonic, just to name a few, we are curious as to what OnePlus could do to set themselves apart.

The company has in the past typically relied on price to keep itself different from the competition, so we wouldn’t be surprised if they might employ a similar tactic for their smart Tv as well, but we’ll have to wait and see.
