According to the rumors, it has been suggested that Apple could be working on a foldable iPhone. This is due to the interest in foldable phones shown by Samsung and Huawei, which has allegedly prompted Apple to explore the idea. Whether or not they’ll actually go through with it remains to be seen.

However, according to a report from IHS Markit analyst Jeff Lin, he claims that Apple could actually be working on a foldable iPad instead where it could be launching in 2020. In addition to the iPad being foldable, he claims that it will support 5G. The latter kind of makes sense because Apple is rumored to launch a 5G iPhone in 2020, so a 5G iPad wouldn’t be completely out of the question, but whether or not it’ll be a foldable tablet is a different story.

As we said, there are some who believe that Apple could have a foldable iPhone in the works, with some analysts who believe that it could come as early as 2020. However, there are others who claim that the foldable iPhone is years away from being made a reality. That being said, it is unclear how popular foldable phones will be.

While there is no doubt a lot of promise in the concept, the postponed launch of the Samsung Galaxy Fold and that Huawei Mate X has delayed the market’s reaction to such devices, although we expect that we should have more details later in the year.
