It has been a few weeks since Google Assistant arrived on Sonos. However, it was only available to Sonos owners in the United States. That changes today. It has been confirmed that Google Assistant on Sonos is now expanding to more countries, six to be precise. To that end, a software update is being rolled out which adds Assistant to Sonos in these markets.

The free software update is being rolled out in the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, Australia, France, and The Netherlands. Sonos users can start using Google Assistant on their devices after they’ve installed the update.

Do keep in mind that Assistant is only available on the Sonos One or Sonos Beam speakers. They can use any and all features that Assistant offers, such as checking the weather, controlling smart home devices, playing music, and a lot more. Other features include Continued Conversation, Broadcast mode as well as the ability to choose a different voice for the assistant.

When the initial announcement had been made about Assistant’s arrival on Sonos speakers, the company had said that the aforementioned countries would get support in July. It has also said that additional countries will receive support as well on a rolling basis in the coming months.
