In the past, we have seen Lenovo team up with Disney to launch the Star Wars: Jedi Challenge which allowed gamers to take on the role of a Jedi where through the use of augmented reality (AR) and the Mirage AR headset, it created an immersive gaming experience. Now it looks like Lenovo and Disney’s partnership will be extending to Marvel.

At IFA 2019, Lenovo and Disney announced Marvel Dimension of Heroes, a new AR-based game that allows gamers to take on the role of a superhero and fight against others in AR. This setup is slightly different from the Star Wars: Jedi Challenge because instead of a lightsaber, Dimension of Heroes will instead come with two “Universal” hand controllers that you hold in your hands while you fight off other Marvel villains.

The superheroes that gamers will be able to choose from include Captain America, Thor, Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, and Star-Lord. The game will also come with several different modes such as Story Mode, Survival Mode, and Co-Op mode, the latter of which will allow gamers to play with each other, although it will require that both of you own the Lenovo Mirage AR headset and kit.

The upcoming Lenovo Mirage AR kit with Marvel Dimension of Heroes will be available for purchase on the 6th of September where it will retail for $250. In the meantime, if virtual reality is more your thing, you can check out our review of the Lenovo Mirage Solo headset.
