One of the reasons why some people might be hesitant to adopt a smartwatch is due to battery life. After all, most regular watches have batteries that can last for years, while some don’t even need to change batteries, so the idea that your smartwatch might not even be able to last you an entire week is bit off-putting.

Unfortunately, for some Apple Watch owners, it seems that following the watchOS 6 update, they are experiencing worse battery life than before. According to one comment on Reddit, “I have been getting horrible battery life compared to my Series 4, so much that I got a new series 4 and am returning my series 5 tomorrow. I don’t want to turn the AOD off because that’s honestly defeating the purpose of purchasing it in the first place.”

As the comment notes, this seems to affect all models of the Apple Watch, including the brand new Apple Watch Series 5. Some users claim to have had some luck extending the battery life by disabling or reducing the number of complications, but that doesn’t really feel like a solution since it limits how users use their Apple Watch.

Hopefully Apple is aware of the battery problems plaguing the Apple Watch and that they will issue a new software update that will address it.
