For a while now Apple has been rumored to be working on a Tile-like tracking accessory. There have been various screenshots to suggest that such a device exists, but to date, Apple has yet to officially announce anything. However, that is expected to change in the coming months where Apple could finally unveil them in October.

This is according to a report from Macotakara who were told by an unknown Chinese supplier that the accessory may make its appearance at the iPhone 12 event, which for now is currently rumored for October. We suppose this kind of makes sense as it is an accessory designed for the iPhone, so there is no better time than the iPhone event to unveil it.

For those who might be unfamiliar, the AirTags are expected to be similar to Tile, which is a small Bluetooth enabled device that can be put into bags or onto keys in the form of a keychain. Users can then use Bluetooth to keep track of their belongings to make sure that they never lose them again.

However, one of the alleged main differences between the AirTags and Tile’s trackers is that the AirTags will rely on ultra wideband technology that will apparently allow for more pinpoint accuracy over conventional Bluetooth technology.
