Earlier last month, Google announced that they would be bringing its Google Maps app back onto the Apple Watch. For those who were excited by the news and have been looking forward to it, you’ll be pleased to learn that Google Maps is now available (again) for the Apple Watch in the latest update to the app.
For Apple Watch users, all you need to do is make sure that you have the latest version of Google Maps on your iPhone and then add the app to your Apple Watch and you’ll be good to go. The app will provide users with some of the same features that you might expect from the mobile version of the app, but it will also take advantage of the Apple Watch’s haptic feedback to help prompt users when it comes to directions.
This will be useful if you’re trying to navigate your way around a city that you’re not familiar with and if you don’t want to have to be constantly reaching for your phone. It might not be as feature rich compared to the mobile version of the app, but it should be reasonably good enough that it can get the job done.
Google Maps was previously available on the Apple Watch during the earlier days, but Google later dropped support for it. The company did state that the app would be returning, and now 3 years later, it has.
