While we have heard rumors about Apple making their own car in the past, recently the project was put under the spotlight again when it was suggested that it could debut in the next 4-5 years. So much so that when asked on LinkedIn about such a car, Volkswagen’s CEO replied by saying that they are looking forward to the competition.

According to Volkswagen’s CEO Herbert Diess, “We are looking forward to new competitors who will certainly accelerate the transformation of our industry and bring in new skills. The incredible evaluation and thus the virtually unlimited access to resources inspire us a great deal of respect.”

He adds, “A real challenge – dimensions greater than those within our industry (e.B. Toyota Motor Corporation ) As I have already said, the most valuable company in the world will once again be a mobility company – it Tesla can, Apple or may be Volkswagen AG called.” That being said, it is definitely something to look forward to, especially coming from a company that has almost no experience in making cars.

It was recently revealed in Elon Musk’s biography that he had tried to sell Tesla to Apple, but Apple’s CEO Tim Cook did not even entertain the idea or take the meeting. Either way, the rumored Apple Car won’t be arriving anytime soon, so take these reports with a grain of salt for now.
