A couple of years ago, it was suggested that Google could be working on their own foldable Pixel phone. This was based on a patent, although not too long after that, the company did confirm that they were exploring the idea. Whether or not such a device will materialize remains to be seen, but now there seems to be a chance that it will.

In a report from TheElec, it appears that Google could be looking to source their foldable displays from Samsung. This foldable panel is said to measure 7.6-inches which makes it around the same size as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2. It shouldn’t be surprising that Google could be sourcing from Samsung.

Given that Samsung is more or less dominating the foldable scene right now, it would make sense that Google would be sourcing the display from them. Not much else is known about this alleged device right now, but it will be interesting to see how Google could position the device if it is ever made a reality.

Google will be launching new Pixel phones later this year, but so far none of the rumors have indicated that there could be a foldable model in the works, so maybe take this report with a grain of salt for now.
