The problem with Apple’s iPad at the moment is that despite the company’s attempts at trying to turn it into some kind of productivity powerhouse, the UI is simply not cut out for it. This is because iPadOS is still based on iOS which was designed with smartphones in mind and not computers.

However, according to a report from Bloomberg, iOS 15 is expected to change that. According to Mark Gurman, he claims that with iOS 15, Apple will introduce a new home screen for the iPad. Details about what kind of changes we can expect is unclear, but like we said, we wouldn’t be surprised if it were to be redesigned to make it better suited for productivity.

Apple recently launched their brand new iPad Pro that comes with the M1 chipset which was designed for Mac computers in mind. However, many initial impressions of the tablet said that the problem wasn’t so much the hardware, but rather the software, and hopefully this is something that iOS 15 can address.

iOS 15 is expected to be officially announced at WWDC 2021 which will be taking place in June, so we should have more details about Apple’s plans for the iPhone and iPad on the software front then.
