Earlier this year, Apple upgraded its 12.9-inch iPad Pro where the tablet was given a new mini LED display. However, it was exclusive to the 12.9-inch model, which meant that those who preferred the smaller 11-inch model, they were out of luck. If you were hoping to see a refresh this year, then you might be disappointed.

However, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, that will change in 2022. Kuo claims that Apple will be bringing mini LEDs to the 11-inch iPad Pro next year, which means that the entire iPad Pro lineup will be equipped with the display technology. Kuo also believes that Apple will not be stopping at the iPad Pros.

The analyst claims that Apple has actually been investing more in mini LED display suppliers as they are apparently planning to use the tech in more devices. There is a good chance it might not be for the other iPads because according to the rumors, Apple could switch to OLED for the non-iPad Pro models.

It is possible that maybe Apple could bring mini LEDs to its laptops, but we’ll have to wait and see. What’s interesting about Kuo’s report is that he doesn’t mention anything about potentially larger iPads. This was previously reported by Bloomberg, although the report did state that these tablets are still a long ways out, so we probably shouldn’t expect to see it in 2022.
