FineMTEC, a key component supply partner for Apple, has officially denied responsibility for recent durability and display defect issues affecting the newly released Apple iPhone Duo. Following reports of screens breaking after repeated folding and unfolding, industry observers linked the failures to the device’s hinge components.

In an official statement titled “Official Position Regarding Customer’s New Product Quality Issue,” the manufacturer clarified that the reported quality problems were not caused by defects in the parts it supplied. FineMTEC emphasized that determining a specific component as the root cause of a finished product’s failure requires objective technical verification.

While market sources identify FineMTEC as the manufacturer of internal backplates and hinges for the iPhone Duo, the company did not explicitly name Apple or the device in its statement. Furthermore, FineMTEC announced that it is evaluating potential civil and criminal legal measures against the creation and malicious spread of false information that damages its corporate reputation and creditworthiness.
