jay-z-magna-carta-597x335Back in June it was reported at hip-hop artist, Jay-Z, would be entering a $20 million deal with Samsung in which his Magna Carta album would be an exclusive to Samsung’s Galaxy devices and where the album would then be pushed out to Galaxy owners via the Magna Carta app on the 4th of July. Unfortunately things rarely work out the way intended and unsurprisingly it seems that Jay-Z’s Magna Carta album has since been leaked online and can be found on various websites for download, illegal of course. This pretty much renders the deal Samsung made with Jay-Z useless, although we doubt getting an exclusive album on your phone wasn’t exactly the biggest incentive to drop a few hundred dollars to begin with. In any case we guess Samsung did manage to get quite a bit of PR out of it, especially since their brand is tied with one of the most popular musicians in today’s entertainment scene. The album, if you do not own a Galaxy device, will be available for purchase in stores on the 9th of July, and while it is available for download illegally, we do not condone it!
