Over the past few weeks there has been an uptick in rumors and reports concerning Samsung’s 2015 flagship. Sure enough the Galaxy S6 isn’t that far away but the company is yet to confirm when exactly the announcement will be made. New reports out of South Korea are now suggesting that the Galaxy S6 announcement might take place on March 2nd, and if that’s true, it won’t be good for HTC.

That’s because HTC has already scheduled an event for March 1st where it’s expected to show off the new HTC One. Samsung would rain on HTC’s parade by lining up its event the very next day but its understandable why both manufacturers would want to kick off MWC 2015 with their respective announcements.

The March 2nd announcement date for Galaxy S6 is being floated by South Korean media and it has not been confirmed by Samsung, so take it with a grain of salt. As yet no invites have been sent for this event by the company and we’ll really what the date is when that happens.

A lot of hype has already been created for the Galaxy S6 which many believe will provide the boost that Samsung needs in its smartphone sales. Recent reports suggest that the Galaxy S6 will almost exclusively be powered by Samsung’s own Exynos processors due to overheating problems with the Snapdragon 810, and that a Galaxy Note Edge-like variant is also on the cards.
