ff7Earlier this year during E3 2015, Square Enix announced that they would be bringing the classic and iconic Final Fantasy VII game onto iOS. The company had only mentioned a summer release back then but no specific dates were mentioned. However if you’re looking forward to playing the game, you’re in luck because the game has since been released.

However it should be noted that the game has only been released in the New Zealand iTunes App Store for now, but we expect that eventually it will make its way to other iTunes markets. It seems that many developers have chosen markets such as New Zealand and Australia as their test markets before rolling it out on a wider scale, so like we said, it should make its way to the US iTunes App Store in a bit, so you’ll want to keep an eye out for it.

The game is priced at a whopping $19.99 which is typical of Square Enix games, but considerably more expensive than other mobile games out there. However given the depth of Square Enix’s mobile releases, some gamers will probably consider the price tag a reasonable one, but we suppose that really boils down to personal preference.

We expect the mobile port will very popular due to its iconic status, not to mention there is also the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake, so gamers who want to see what all the fuss is about, or relive the good old days can do so ahead of the remake’s release, which at this point still does not have a firm release date.
