Gear-S2-watch_lifestyle__03While having a large battery obviously helps with battery life, having an optimized piece of software can also help with getting as much battery as possible. Take for example the Samsung Gear S2. The smartwatch comes with a 250mAh battery which is smaller than the competition out there, but so far reviews have found that the device lasts around 1.5-2 days on average.

The good news is that according to reports, it seems that Samsung has recently pushed out an update for the smartwatch that will supposedly improve its battery life even further. The update’s version is R730TUVU1AOL3 and weighs a tiny 4.85MB, and according to its changelog battery life optimization is one of the changes that they are making to the device.

Unfortunately as we do not own the Samsung Gear S2 ourselves, we can’t tell how much of an improvement to battery life the update will bring, but it should still be worth updating to all the same. So far reviews of the Gear S2 has found that the device is actually a pretty decent smartwatch.

It is easy for it to get lost in the sea of smartwatches, especially with Apple heavily marketing their Apple Watch, and with Google helping OEMs churn out a slew of Android Wear devices, but it looks like Samsung’s decision to go with Tizen could be paying off amidst reports of it selling twice as many units as its predecessor.
