note 7 august rumorIf there is one rumor regarding Samsung’s next-gen Galaxy Note that is persisting, it would be its launch date, which last we heard has been set for August. Prior to this, Samsung has typically favored IFA to make their announcements, but for some reason this year we are hearing that an August launch is in the cards.

Now thanks to SamMobile, they have received an image which from what we can tell, looks like an invite to Samsung’s next Unpacked event. According to the date on the image, it also seems to be hinting at a 2nd of August announcement. This is in line with the earlier rumors that have suggested a first week/early August launch.

Take it with a grain of salt for now, but we are currently in June which means there is still quite a bit of ways to go before the invites start being handed out. What we are looking at above could possibly be the design that has yet to be released. Interestingly enough the invite has a tagline that reads, “The next edge is just around the corner.”

We’re not sure if this is alluding to the rumor that this year’s Note will sport a curved edge display, or a comment made by a Samsung exec with regards to bendable phones. Either way we guess we’ll just have to wait and see what Samsung has in store for us, so check back with us later for the details and confirmation of the event.
