Back in June, there were rumors that Nest had an outdoor camera in the works. Nest already has an indoor camera so we guess launching one to monitor the outdoors isn’t that much of a stretch. Turns out the rumors were true after all because Nest has officially announced the Nest Cam Outdoor.

As the name implies, this is a camera designed for the outdoors. We suppose technically one could have used the Nest Cam for outdoor purposes, but with the Nest Cam Outdoor, it comes with a weatherproof design that should allow the camera to keep operating despite the weather conditions.

It will offer up the same features as the Nest Cam with Full HD video quality, and for those who subscribe to Nest Aware, you guys will receive alerts when someone comes into view in the camera. The camera also comes with a built-in speaker and microphone, thus allowing users to talk to whoever is outside and hear them as well.

There will be a new Nest app to accompany the camera that can automatically adjust the bandwidth depending on how much is available so that users will always have a smooth video feed. The Nest Cam Outdoor is priced at $200 and will be released later this fall. Nest Aware is a separate service available for a price of $30 for a 30-day subscription.
