ov-alexaAmazon certainly made the right call when they decided that they would open up their voice assistant platform Alexa to third-party manufacturers and developers. Because of that, we’re starting to see Alexa gain a bunch of new skills, as well as find its way into a bunch of non-Amazon products.

That being said, it looks like customers shopping about for more Alexa-enabled products might be pleased to learn that a company called Onvocal has announced a pair of headphones called OV. These look like your typical Bluetooth headset with the main difference is that Amazon’s voice assistant Alexa now lives inside of it.

What this means is that with a touch of a button, users will be able to activate Alexa and ask it to do a bunch of different tasks. This means that they can use Alexa to control their music, listen to music, read books to them, find out the latest happenings, order a pizza, and more, all of which are limited to what Alexa can normally do in the first place.

Unfortunately Onvocal’s OV headphones do not come cheap. They are priced at $400 and can be pre-ordered via its website. We haven’t heard the sound quality yet so we can’t attest to that, but if its wireless features and Alexa sound good enough to you, then you can pre-order it from Onvocal’s website where they are expected to begin shipping January 2017.
