As you might have heard, vinyl sales are on the rise which means that audio equipment manufacturers could have a new market to tap into with regards to turntable products. Over the years we’ve seen companies put out more modern takes on the turntable that helps to appeal to the modern consumer, but we reckon the Love Turntable has taken the cake.

Designed by famed designer Yves Behar, the Love Turntable is nothing like you’ve ever seen because instead of the vinyl record spinning on the turntable, the turntable is actually the one that is moving, which you can see for yourself in the video above. This has resulted in a very unique design and also a very sleek and low profile setup. This also means that picking it up and placing it on any surface is very possible.

As expected it has been designed for today’s tech-savvy society as it can be controlled by your smartphone. The only downside to this portable design is that it relies on battery, and while its creators are promising that users can listen to over 15 complete sides of a 12-inch LP record, we guess the fact that it requires recharging means that you could run into some down time.

We’re not sure how well this design and functionality will sit with vinyl collectors and purists, but if you’re looking for something sleek and modern for your home, perhaps the Love Turntable could be it. It is priced at $299 on Kickstarter and is expected to be delivered to backers come October 2017.
