A lot of games have gifting features that allows gamers to send a gift to another player. However that feature was conspicuously absent from Epic’s Fortnite Battle Royale, although it was back in October that we heard that a gifting feature was in the works, but there was no mention of when the feature might be going live.

If gifting is a feature that you’d love to see in Fortnite, especially given that we’re approaching the holidays, then you’ll be pleased to learn that Epic has since announced that the gifting feature is finally available in the game. Unfortunately there are a couple of catches regarding this feature.

One of those is that it is not available on iOS because according to Epic, this goes against Apple’s policies (certain apps such as LINE have also removed the ability to send gifts through the app, you can only do so via its website). We’re not sure if Epic will find a workaround but until they do, this won’t be available for iOS gamers.

Also the ability to send gifts will be available for a limited time. The gifting feature will be available for a week following the 6.31 update. Presumably this is a way for Epic to test out the system before rolling out in full in the future, which at this point in time is unclear when that might be.
