A few days ago, it was reported that Apple could be working on launching a new pair of Beats headphones. What makes this interesting and exciting is the fact that Apple has yet to launch a set of Beats headphones in a while (new colorways don’t really count), and how it has also been rumored to be a set of “true” wireless headphones similar to the AirPods.

Now thanks to the good folks at 9to5Mac, they have discovered animations hidden within iOS 12.2 that reveal the upcoming headphones which apparently will be known as the Powerbeats Pro. Based on the design, it seems that the headphones will share a similar shape to the Powerbeats 3 where there appears to a hook which allows the headphones to securely fasten to your ears.

This makes sense as the Powerbeats 3 was designed to be used as a set of workout headphones, so this should continue the tradition. It also comes in black with an accompanying charging case also in black (we wonder if the rumors of a set of black AirPods could have been confused for these).

No word on its specs or features yet, but we imagine that it will most likely use the new H1 chip found in the second-gen AirPods which should allow for faster pairing. It will also most likely feature some kind of water-resistance so that it can be used during a workout. In any case we’ll keep our eyes and ears peeled for more information regarding pricing and availability.
