During WWDC 2019, Apple announced that as part of iOS 13, there will also be some new features that would be coming to the AirPods. One of those features is the “Announce Messages with Siri”, in which messages you receive while wearing the AirPods can be read out loud to you by Siri.

However, what Apple failed to mention was whether or not the feature would be exclusive to the AirPods, or if it could find its way to Apple’s other headsets, like the recently-launched Powerbeats Pro. The good news is that if you were planning on getting the Powerbeats Pro, the folks at 9to5Mac have confirmed with their sources that yes, the messages feature will indeed be part of the Powerbeats Pro.

In many ways, this makes perfect sense. This is because the Powerbeats Pro is more or less like the AirPods in terms of hardware, where it shares the same H1 chipset and the “Hey Siri” activation feature, so it actually should support the messages feature as well. This is good news because we imagine that there are probably some people who might not like the AirPods due to its fit, or who might prefer the Powerbeats Pro because of its sound quality, but would rather not miss out on certain features.
