For a while we have been hearing the rumors that Apple could be working on an augmented reality headset. In fact, according to the predictions of a very well-connected analyst, it seems that 2020 could actually be the year that we see such a headset debut from the Cupertino company.

Now according to a new report from DigiTimes, more revelations about the AR headset have been revealed. Based on their sources, they are claiming that Apple is apparently working with Valve on developing the headset. This is very interesting because this would actually not be the first time that Valve has worked with a company on such technology.

A couple of years ago, Valve worked with HTC to develop the HTC Vive VR headset, so it’s not a complete surprise to learn that they are working with Apple on developing an AR headset. It would also not be Valve’s first time working with Apple. A couple of years ago, Valve worked with Apple to help bring VR support to macOS, so once again, working with Apple on AR would not be a stretch of the imagination.

That being said, this report should be taken with a grain of salt for now. This is because Apple is known for choosing to develop their own technology, reducing their reliance on outsiders as much as possible, so for them to pursue the development of an AR headset with Valve does seem to be slightly out of the ordinary.
