Yesterday, it was reported that according to Jon Prosser, he hinted that the Apple Watch Series 7 could use a similar design we’ve been seeing in Apple’s more recent products. This led to speculation that he meant that it would feature flatter edges. Prosser said that he would be sharing more details, like renders, later on, and sure enough he did.

In the latest episode of Front Page Tech, Prosser has shared renders of what he claims is the Apple Watch Series 7. As expected from the earlier speculation, it does indeed sport flat edges, although the screen of the watch is still slightly curved so it won’t be a completely flat-looking watch like the iPhone or iPad Pro, which actually might be a good thing.

According to Prosser, these renders were created based on actual images of the watch, but since none of this is official, it’s probably best to take it with a grain of salt. What’s interesting though is that the speaker grills on the side of the watch have gotten a lot bigger and span almost the entire side of the watch.

He adds that Apple will most likely keep the size of the watch the same, so if you were hoping for a larger display, you might be disappointed. However, he does note that he was told that Apple did experiment with trying to shrink the bezels even more, which could result in a larger display while maintaining the overall size, but we’ll have to wait and see. In the meantime, what do you think? Are you digging this potential redesign?
