Google and Samsung announced a new Wear platform at Google I/O 2021 last month. Apart from the confirmed partnership and a few words describing some of the features we can expect, not much else is known or what this new Wear platform could look like. For those who are curious, we will find out soon enough.

According to a tweet from Samsung, the company has confirmed that they will be hosting an event at MWC 2021 where based on the event invite, it looks like they will be covering the new Wear platform. The event is scheduled to take place on the 28th of June where it will also be available to stream live via the company’s YouTube channel.

It will actually be very interesting to see how this new Wear platform could look like and what kind of changes we can expect. According to the announcement from last month, this new partnership essentially brings the best of both worlds – Wear OS and Tizen – together. Google stated back then that we can expect things like faster app performance, better battery life, and so on, but stopped short of going into detail.

It is an exciting partnership but whether or not it will live up to the hype remains to be seen, and more importantly, what this could mean for current Wear OS users. Either way, we should have more details soon so check back with us next week for the updates.
