Disappearing messages are a great privacy option if you want to have conversations that aren’t recorded or saved in chat history. Viber has a disappearing messages feature for its individual chats, but for those who were hoping to see it arrive for group chats, then Viber’s latest announcement might be of interest to you.

The company has announced that they will be bringing disappearing messages to its group chats. According to the company, “When it comes to setting disappearing messages in a group chat, users will not need to go through a multi-step process to change the status for messages in the group. With Viber’s feature, members can easily toggle the feature on and off within the chat itself.”

They add, “With the expanded functionality, Viber users can set messages in a group chat to disappear 10 seconds, one minute, one hour, or one day after being read, offering more options than with the disappearing message features of other apps.”

For those concerned about people forwarding to trying to grab a screenshot, don’t worry because Viber has protections built into the app to prevent that from happening. The feature should be rolling out to users as we speak so make sure you have the latest version of the app to take advantage of it.
