samsung logo 5Just about everyone and their dog know that Samsung will be rolling out a new flagship device later this year, where it will see off the ageing Samsung Galaxy S5. Logic and history would dictate that this particular handset will be known as the Samsung Galaxy S6, although that has yet to be confirmed. For now, we shall refer to the handset as just that, and while we have heard whispers going around that the Galaxy S6 will arrive with dual edge displays, here is yet another rumor to whet your appetite – apparently, the Samsung Galaxy S6 will feature 4GB RAM – which would certainly see it meet the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro head-on without breaking a sweat.

Analysts who happen to be working for Korea Investment & Securities, have cited in the past that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 will pack in 3GB RAM according to what has been spotted on the AnTuTu Benchmark site. Well, the 4GB RAM might be the new standard for flagship devices – which would mean a doubling (at least for Android-powered smartphones), taking into consideration that just as recent as 2013, devices like the LG G2 came with 2GB RAM. Will 2017 see RAM hit 8GB in smartphones then? Only time will tell.
