A couple of months ago Samsung announced the Gear VR Innovator Edition that would be compatible with the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge. Last month the device was put up for pre-order but the good news is that if you wanted to get your hands on it, you can as the device has been made available for purchase.

Users who are looking to take the virtual reality headset for a spin will be pleased to know that they can head on over to either Samsung or Best Buy where they will be able to purchase the headset for themselves where it is priced at $200. That being said we should note that this particular model has been designed for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge in mind.

Users who have different models or have a Galaxy Note 4, you will have to purchase a different model. The upside to this particular model is that it is supposedly smaller and lighter and will come with redesigned straps. There is also a built-in fan to help keep your device cool while you are using it.

Samsung is claiming that due to the use of the Exynos 7420 in the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge that viewing virtual reality on the headset should be a smoother experience. The size of the display combined with the high resolution will also result in sharper images, although ultimately your field of view will be smaller as the Galaxy S6’s display is smaller than that of the Note 4.
