It was reported a couple of weeks ago that Samsung is going to officially launch the Gear S3 smartwatch in India in January 2017. The company conducted an event in the country today to formally announce its new smartwatch that’s already out in some big markets like the United States, China, South Korea, and Europe. At the event, Samsung confirmed the Gear S3 release date for customers in India as well as the prices for both variants.

Samsung has launched the Gear S3 classic and Gear S3 frontier in India today. As is the case in other markets across the globe, both variants have the same price tag, INR 28,500 or roughly $420.

Samsung has also confirmed the Gear S3 release date for India. The smartwatch will be available for purchase from retail stores as well as online stores starting January 18th. Some online stores may soon start taking pre-orders for the new smartwatch as well.

For their money, customers will get one of the most feature-packed smartwatches on the market right now. The Gear S3 features a 1.3 inch Super AMOLED display, it’s powered by a 1 GHz dualcore processor with 768MB RAM and 4GB of onboard storage.

The smartwatch features IP68 water and dust resistance certification, a 380mAh battery, wireless charging, NFC, and support for Samsung Pay. It also comes with a handful of sensors which include a heart rate sensor, speedometer, barometer, gyro, and accelerometer.
