If you’ve played Super Mario Run, you know that the coins you collect can be used towards building up your kingdom. Now if you’re running low on coins or if you’d like to stockpile your coins, you might be interested to learn that Nintendo has launched a limited time event for the game.
Dubbed the “Loads of Coins” event, basically from now until the 25th of January, the amount of coins you will collect when you win a Toad Rally has been increased by 1.5 times. It isn’t a huge boost but if you have been actively playing the game then we guess it could be pretty useful if you plan on building up your kingdom.
Coins in Super Mario Run appear to be only spendable on things like buildings and decorations. We would have liked to see more versatility such as being able to buy costumes or effects for your characters, but unfortunately this is the extent of the use of coins for now, but like we said if you want to stockpile some coins for future use in case Nintendo comes up with something else, then by all means do take advantage of this limited time event.
Nintendo has confirmed that Super Mario Run will not be getting any DLCs, so we guess in-game events like this will help keep the game fresh and keep gamers interested.
