China is an extremely important market for Apple, so much so that following weak demand for the iPhone in the country, Apple had to slash its revenue estimates. Bad news aside, it seems that over in China Apple has recently taken the wraps off their latest Beats Solo3 wireless headphones, which has been given an exclusive design for the Chinese market.

Dubbed the “New Year Special Edition”, it features a grey motif around the band and cups of the headphones, while certain portions of the headphone feature a gold finish. This is actually not the first time we’ve seen Apple launch a special edition headset, but in this case this particular design will be exclusive to China.

This is not the first time that we’ve seen Apple cater to the Chinese market. Several years ago when Apple introduced the first gold finish for the iPhone, it was said that this was because in China, the gold color is particularly favored which is why the gold variant was created in the first place.

In any case the New Year Beats Solo3 wireless headphones won’t feature any new specs or features, so don’t expect to see anything new. If you like what you see, then maybe try to find someone going to China to help you bring them back.
