We have been hearing rumors about Apple working on a new set of AirPods, but the question is when will it launch? According to the latest rumors, which comes in the form of a tweet by user Luke Miani, it seems that the device could be launching on the 18th of May alongside a rumored new Apple Music HiFi streaming option.

While we can’t say for sure if this is true, AppleTrack claims to have also heard privately that a new set of AirPods is coming soon, so whether or not it will be on the 18th of May remains to be seen. We have heard multiple rumors dating back to 2020 that the third-gen AirPods will launch in 2021, so while we can’t confirm the 18th of May date, it is plausible.

As for the Apple Music HiFi rumors, we actually heard about this potential service earlier in May which was further corroborated by an APK teardown of the Apple Music app for Android which hinted at a lossless streaming option. Apple Music’s current streaming quality is decent but not necessarily audiophile worthy, so the option for a lossless stream could convince more discerning users to hop on board the Apple Music bandwagon, but until we get the official word, don’t read too much into these reports for now.
