Following the release of iOS 15 and the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 owners quickly realized that they were unable to unlock their iPhones using the Apple Watch. Apple later promised that they would be issuing a fix, and sure enough if you own the iPhone 13, you might want to check out the latest update.

An update has recently been released where it bumps the iPhone’s software up to iOS 15.0.1. The changelog for the update doesn’t mention any other fixes other than the bug that will address the iPhone 13 and Apple Watch issue, but it might be worth updating to anyway.

For those unfamiliar, unlock with Apple Watch was a feature Apple introduced a while back during the pandemic. As more people wore masks to protect themselves against the coronavirus, it rendered features like Face ID useless and troublesome to use.

Apple then introduced the unlocking feature where as long as the Apple Watch was unlocked on your wrist and paired with your iPhone, it would automatically unlock your iPhone for you. It has proven itself to be an invaluable feature and if you haven’t set it up yet for yourself, then check out our guide on how to unlock your iPhone while wearing a mask.
