mumbai-selfieI wonder whether insurance companies should include a new clause in their terms and conditions that do not cover any kind of injury or even death if one were to snap selfies during a holiday. Here we are with word that 5 tourists actually fell off a click when attempting to capture a selfie in Goa, with two of them ended up being seriously hurt in the process.

The Goa police have already requested for a sub-divisional magistrate to take down the statement of two of the ladies who suffered from severe injuries in the accident. It seemed that the five fell off the cliff as they attempted to snap a selfie while leaning on a gate which duly opened. This incident happened near the hillside cottages which were the place of residence for the tourists.

Police inspector Paresh Naik said, “Two women fell on their back on a stone and are currently admitted in a private hospital. The doctors have said that they might be paralysed for life.” As for the other three, primary treatment was administered before discharging them. Looks like you can die from a selfie from just about any circumstance, although this has not stopped folks from attempting some really ridiculous selfies – including one with a washed up shark that’s still alive.

Maybe Mumbai’s idea o 16 no-selfie zones is a good one after all.
