So yesterday there was a report on how Apple had actually hired the former designer at HTC to come and help them develop new Beats headphones. This is based on a report from 2020 that suggested that Apple could be killing off its Beats brand, but this hire suggests that Apple could have something in the works.

Now thanks to images obtained by 9to5Mac, we might have an idea of what to expect. As you can see in the photo above, these are allegedly an upcoming pair of true wireless earbuds with the Beats branding. Under the Beats brand, Apple has actually launched a wireless set of earbuds in the form of the Powerbeats Pro.

However, they were kind of bulky as they had hooks to help secure them in place and were designed with fitness enthusiasts in mind. However, these earbuds, assuming the leak is accurate, are more in line with other true wireless earbuds. The design also appears to be very different compared to what Apple was going for with its AirPods, but that’s fair given that they’re different brands.

Unfortunately, there is no word on when these earbuds will be launched. WWDC 2021 is coming up so that’s a possible platform for an announcement, even though WWDC isn’t hardware focused, but either way we’ll have to wait and see.
