Just last week, Spotify launched its official app for the Apple Watch which brought about native features and controls for Spotify on the smartwatch. Not to be outdone, it looks like Deezer has since updated its own app where it will now offer up a lot more features to the Apple Watch which we imagine the company is hoping will draw more subscribers.

Deezer’s app on the Apple Watch has been around for a while now, but the update to version 2.0 brings about some pretty major changes. For example with the updated app, users can now have direct access to recently played tracks and favorites, along with Deezer’s “Flow” feature that is basically the company’s personal music discovery system.

In a statement made by Deezer’s Chief Content and Product Officer Alexander Holland, “Personally, I don’t like wasting time trying to find music that I want to listen to. Now with the new Deezer app on Apple Watch, I can quickly play Flow and all my favorite songs directly from the homepage, right from the wrist.”

As it stands, both Apple Music and Spotify are pretty much leading the market in terms of music streaming. We’re not sure if a more functional Apple Watch app will allow Deezer to catch up to its rivals, but for those who are using the company’s services, hopefully the updated app will make it more functional.
